The VP, Sales and Marketing is a key member of the leadership team and will deliver the company’s growth strategy by leading the Firm’s Sales team and activities as well as driving the Firm’s best practices around account planning, opportunity management, lead generation, marketing programs, and sales execution. The VP, Sales and Marketing will work closely with the President and Chief Operating Officer and other members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to hire, train, lead, and support the success and goal achievement of the Sales organization. The VP, Sales and Marketing will develop and execute solution strategies for target clients and effective techniques for successful sale closures to achieve sales targets.  



This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.



  • Foster a virtual collaborative team environment within the sales organization across the country
  • Develop and drive objectives and goals for the sales team in line with the key measurements and scorecards set by the ELT
  • Provide sales strategy and expertise throughout the sales cycle and during the quote and proposal development process to assist in closing new business
  • Develop and maintain the Firm’s templates and processes, manage the sales process in conjunction with Delivery management through the identification of an opportunity through close of the business
  • Set annual quota targets for the sales team to achieve annual growth targets
  • Manage and track sales activities and metrics against targets and ensure annual goals are met
  • Meet or exceed sales revenue goals for acquiring new clients and attaining other sales-related goals, as defined by the Firm
  • Provide updated sales metrics for the ELT meetings and present sales metrics to the ELT throughout the year
  • Develop training programs for the sales team to expedite ramp up time for new sales team members and provide consistency in sales processes across the team. Develop and teach "best practices" related to prospecting, effective client targeting, sales activities and programs
  • Develop training and procedures in concert with Operations to ensure cross department processes are operating effectively
  • Review and edit a range of client-facing sales deliverables from sales qualifications to proposals and presentation documents
  • Ensure sales team records activity are entered timely in the CRM to track and manage sales-related information, and to share it as needed
  • Review and provide monthly commission reporting and update the commission plans annually as required
  • Work closely with the ELT to develop sales strategies to introduce new services, increase sales for targeted services, and effectively cross sell multiple services
  • Implement any newly developed sales, marketing and networking programs, events, and tools
  • Lead the sales relationship with the Firm’s Strategic Alliance Partners, ensuring the relationships are win-win resulting in additional qualified leads to the firm
  • Maintain key client relationships and participate in relevant networking groups to generate leads and promote brand awareness
  • Lead the Firm’s marketing activities and provide input to develop sales, marketing and networking programs, events, and tools
  • Develop and participate in the development and execution of seminars, conferences, and speaking events
  • Perform competitor research on similar offerings in similar markets, and track competitor reactions to changes in the market and analyze needs to ensure product portfolio is supporting client needs
  • Provide input related to competitive intelligence and new product ideas from the field and share market insights with the ELT and Sales team

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 10+ years of successful solution-based and consultative sales experience required
  • Experience in business-to-business relationship development at a professional services firm. Preferred experience in selling technology compliance services for at least 5+ years and leading marketing efforts to drive sales for at least 2+ years
  • Proven track record in growing sales territory and establishing a network of contacts and prospects
  • Ability to lead a team and successfully achieve goals in a virtual environment
  • Previous digital marketing experience in business-to-business sales environment is highly preferred


  • Demonstrated performance in a commission or incentive-based compensation program
  • Proven success in leading and managing the entire sales process to achieve revenue targets
  • Proven success in developing and leading marketing efforts resulting in increased sales
  • Demonstrated performance developing business with professional services organizations
  • Experience working with CRM software and managing to key sales measurements
  • Ability to write and create effective sales presentations and proposals
  • Advanced level experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and verbal communications skills as well as excellent presentation skills
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills


This job operates in a professional virtual remote work environment. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to stand and sit for prolonged periods. Specific vision abilities required include close and medium-distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal sounds, distinguish sound as voice, and communicate through human speech. This position requires the ability to routinely operate a keyboard, computer mouse, telephone, fax, scanner, copier, writing tools, scissors, and other standard office equipment. On occasion, an employee will be asked to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.



Local and overnight travel up to 20% is expected for this position.
